| When I completed the “Drive of Your Life” game, I discovered that my personal style profile was: outgoing, practical, and creative. The three careers that match my style are: licensed practical nurse, dental assistant, and athletic trainer. From this information I have decided to explore becoming a licensed practical nurse. I selected this job because I enjoy working with others and taking care of others. One of my daily activities as a licensed practical nurse would be to take care of the patient's hygiene. I also have to look at the patients and chart their records. In addition, I have to take care of patient's wounds and sores. To work as a licensed practical nurse I need to have taken some college courses and have some on-site training. I must be good at listening well to the patients and talking to others at appropriate times in order to become a well trained licensed practical nurse. In the United States, the average salary for a licensed practical nurse is $40,110 per year. In the state of Virginia, the average annual salary is $38,044. In the United States by the year 2016 employment for a licensed practical nurse is expected to increase by 14%. In the state of Virginia by the year 2016 it is expected to increase by 20.2%. I am looking forward to becoming a licensed practical nurse in the future. |
